Tips for keeping your carpet clean this holiday season!

The holiday season is great. You get to catch up with relatives from far and near. Who doesn’t love celebratory toasts, tree trimming and maybe the biggest event of all, the annual holiday party you host? Your carpets probably don’t like it, considering the annual wine spills, mud tracks and outside debris that makes its way in. Here’s how you can keep the spills and stains to a minimum:
  • Hire a professional such as King's Chem-Dry to apply a protectant to your carpet. What’s the real secret to blasting red wine stains out of your carpet, efficiently and quickly? By choosing a professional to put on tough protectant onto your carpet, of course! Plan for the holiday season (and all the spills and stains that come with your holiday gatherings) by having King's Chem-Dry apply a stain resistant treatment to your carpets which has stain blockers so soils have nowhere to soak in and will be easily rinsed out of the carpets. Get hold of your local King's Chem-Dry, and have the professionals prepare your most vulnerable and high traffic areas to be successful before the food staining opportunities of this holiday season begin.
  • Notify your invited guests to leave their shoes at the door. Just one of the quickest and easiest ways to reduce mud, bacteria and dirt that lives outdoors from entering your house is by setting up a shoe station at your entrance. With out-of-state family that will come for a visit, make sure they know (with a smile) their shoes are safe inside your home-by the front door. Surely they’ll recognize the pride you have got for your carpets, and chances are high that, they’ll be more than content to oblige.
  • If weather is warm enough, bring the party outdoors! Some parts of the country are lucky enough to have mild winter months. If you live in Texas, Arizona or California, you most likely are one of the few that are able to comfortably host a ‘winter wonderland’ themed party outdoors!

Get prepared for the holidays by contacting King's Chem-Dry, the cleaning experts you can rely on! They offer a ‘tough on stains, healthy for the home’ carpet solution and protectant which will keep the spills and stains away-no matter the number of visitors you end up with!

How to protect your carpet with the season changing

With the weather turning cooler and leaves are changing color, the autumn months are also bringing rain…and a great deal of it! While it usually is an excellent time for early evening walks and colorful foliage, it's not at all the prettiest time for your carpets! The rainy season often means wet, dirty, and muddy carpets. Not to fret…there are plenty of actions you can take to guard your carpets with the rainy weather that accompanies the autumn season.

Make sure that anyone who enters your home removes their shoes by your entry way. This will alleviate a great deal of dirt and mud from being tracked within your home on people’s shoes. If you have pets, you should also wipe their paws before enabling them to enter your home.

Also, it is advisable to invest in rugs and door mats. By placing door mats at each of the entryways, you are able lower the amount of grime that comes directly into the home. It is a good reminder for guests to wipe their feet. You can place decorative rugs in hallways, entryways, besides other high traffic areas. This is an easy and inexpensive way to protect your carpets from stains. Rugs are much easier to clean and can oftentimes be washed in the washing machine.

root cause of soiling and stains is high humidity. When there's a high level of moisture in the air, it is more likely that soils and stains can set into your carpets. You can avoid this problem by using fans or air-conditioners to reduce the moist air in your home.

Keep Your Carpets Looking New!

May is coming to a close and you know what THAT means: Kids are out of school and back into the house. Of course, we all love our kids, but not always the dirt and mud they track in. The more traffic your carpets get, the more they need to get professionally cleaned.

To reduce the frequency your carpets need to be cleaned, we offer a product called the Chem-Dry Protectant. Applying this to your carpets will give them stain-fighting protection, helping your carpets look and feel newer, longer.

But even for those tough-to-remove stains, Chem-Dry’s proprietary carpet cleaning solution is able to penetrate the carpet fibers deeper than the competitors, leaving carpets clean and dry in only 1-2 hours, not 1-2 days!

How Disgusting Is Your Carpet?

The average carpet can contain 8 times its weight in dust, dirt and other unwanted particles and contains hundreds of times more bacteria per square inch than a toilet seat. And that’s just the average! This test will help you figure out how nasty your carpet actually is – and even though you might not want to know, think about how often your kids crawl on your carpet and how this knowledge could help you prevent exposing your family to harmful chemicals, bacteria and allergens.
